What do these numbers mean?
- Each entry has a row and column position. Addition/subtraction operate on matching entries; multiplication sums products of a row of A and a column of B. Transpose swaps rows and columns; an inverse requires a nonzero determinant and numerical stability.
- In decimal numbers, commas separate thousands and a dot separates decimals: 1,234.5 = 1234 + 0.5. ×10^3 means multiply by 1000; ×10^-3 means divide by 1000. Display rounding can make tiny differences between shown totals.
