What do these numbers mean?
- Zakatable wealth here is assets minus entered liabilities. Nisab is valued as 85 grams of gold; the estimate applies 2.5% when the threshold is reached. Holding-period and eligibility rules need separate verification.
- In decimal numbers, commas separate thousands and a dot separates decimals: 1,234.5 = 1234 + 0.5. ×10^3 means multiply by 1000; ×10^-3 means divide by 1000. Display rounding can make tiny differences between shown totals.
Wealth is above the nisab — zakat is due at 2.5%.
| Zakatable wealth | 68,000 |
| Nisab (85 g gold) | 26,350 |
| Rate | 2.5% |
How this is worked out
- Zakatable wealth: 80,000 − 12,000 = 68,000.
- Nisab: 85 g × 310 = 26,350.
- 68,000 × 2.5% = 1,700.
